Circuito Cultural Barracas

In April 1996, when the Circuito Cultural Barracas gave birth to its activities, the first aim was to start a neighbourhood “murga”, assembling neighbours of different ages in an artistic-communitary proposal that would allow them get together, express and communicate through the popular language of the “murga porteña”.
In that way, through the workshop activities the “Murga Los Descontrolados de Barracas” started . Every year new neighbours join in.
On December 8th.1996 the first presentation was held showing their distinctive colours :blue, orange and yellow in the neighbourhood.
The “ Descontrolados de Barracas” try to add –besides the social function the “murga” plays- quality to their presentations as a transforming element.
